Tòa Ðại Sứ Hoa Kỳ ở Hà Nội theo dõi tình trạng an nguy của Bs. Phạm Hồng Sơn, đối tác liên lạc với Diễn đàn Dân Chủ ở Việt Nam.

Qua sự vận động trực tiếp của Diễn đàn Dân Chủ (DANCHU.net) và CLB Những Chiến Sĩ Dân Chủ cũng như nhiều tổ chức nhân quyền khác, mặc dầu vào dịp lễ Easter, Tòa Ðại Sứ Hoa Kỳ vẫn làm việc nhằm theo dõi tình trạng an nguy của Bs. Phạm Hồng Sơn. Ông Timothy C. Swanson, Ðệ Nhị Tham Vụ, của Tòa Ðại Sứ Hoa Kỳ ở Hà Nội đã gởi 2 điện thư cho Diễn đàn Dân Chủ (DANCHU.net) cho biết là Tòa Ðại Sứ Hoa Kỳ đang theo dõi tình trạng an nguy của Bs. Phạm Hồng Sơn.

Ông Timothy C. Swanson cho biết hiên nay là sự tra xét của Tòa Ðại Sứ Hoa Kỳ ở Hà Nội (our enquiries to this point) chưa thẩm định được chính xác hiện trạng của Bs. Phạm Hồng Sơn và và cần thêm dữ kiện. Diễn đàn Dân Chủ đã cung cấp thêm các tài liệu Anh ngữ sau đây về Bs. Phạm Hồng Sơn cho Tòa Ðại Sứ Hoa Kỳ.

RE: Further information on Dr. Son Hong Pham per your April 1, 2002 request

A)           Dr. Son Hong PHAM began to publish his translation works in the  overseas community several months ago.

B)            Dr. Son Hong PHAM is 32 years old. He finished medical school  in Hanoi and continued on to obtain an MBA from the French-Vietnamese 

Center for Management Training and attended several other training  courses. He speaks both English and French fluently. His registered 

residence is at 303 E2 Back Khoa, Ha Noi (303 E2 Bách khoa - Hà nội) and lived at 72 B Thuy Khue, Tay Ho, Hanoi (72 B Thụy Khuê 

- Tây hồ - Hà nội) before his arrest.

On March 25, 2002, Colonel Le Van of P4 A25 (Lê Vân thuộc P4 A25) came to his house at 10am and requested him to attend the security 

office at 7 Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Ha Noi (7 Nguyễn Ðình Chiểu - Hà nội) to meet with P4 A25 security head Nguyen Quoc Hung 

(Nguyễn Quốc Hùng) at 1pm on the same day.  He was interrogated at the security office about his translation works from articles 

published on the website of the US Embassy (Issues of Democracy). Eight (8) security cadres then followed him home and began to search 

and seize his computer and several hundred pages of documents.

On March 26, 2002, Dr. Pham went to the security office at 7 Nguyen  Dinh Chieu, Ha Noi at 10am to demand the return of his belongings 

but the security office refused. The argument lasted until 3:20pm  when the security cadres agreed to videotape the dispute.

On March 27, 2002, Dr. Pham issued the appeal letter (Don De Nghi) and emailed it to Dan Chu Forum @ DanChu.net.  Dan Chu Forum published 

and circulated it internationally.  Subsequently, Dr. Pham was arrested and detained.

The last information Dan Chu Forum received is that his mother was allowed to see him.
