Dear Senator Burton:

I am writing to urge you to use your influence to move SCR 72 (Ducheny) out of the Senate rules committee so that it can be fully considered.

SCR 72 would formally recognize the flag of the Republic of Vietnam as the symbolic flag of the Vietnamese-American community, and allow its display on State property in conjunction with community events or activities. This measure will extend the same respect for the Vietnamese-American community and its cultural heritage that the City of Garden Grove, and several other cities throughout the country, have recently expressed.

We thank Senator Ducheny for her authorship, encourage all other members of the Senate to vote in favor of this measure, and, most importantly, commend the Vietnamese-American community on their continued efforts to wipe the blight of communism from the face of Vietnam and to free the land of their ancestors from tyranny.

Thank you for considering our position on moving this vitally important matter out of the Senate Rule Committee and on into the legislative process.
